Literature
Dagley was born in Hastings moving to Tauranga as a toddler. Although widely regarded as self-taught Dagley did study under tutors including Paul Olds, Rudi Gopas, Louise Henderson, Garth Tapper and Colin McCahon., He exhibited regularly in both Tauranga and Hamilton. Dagley had a lifetime fascination with shipping. He produced a number of abstract works - both painting and sculptural pieces based on Tauranga harbour and port. Dagley worked as a full time artist for several decades and has left a lasting legacy with a unique Bay of Plenty flavour.
