Literature
Ross, James (editor). Kirker, Anne, Gretchen Albrecht; Crossing the divide: a painter makes prints , (Sarjeant Gallery) Whanganui, 1999, p.17
"....the artist found an innovative way of printing 'linear gesture' in small woodcuts she made in New York during a 2 month stay there in 1983. Pieces of discarded plywood found in the street, which had a distinctive raised grain, were cut and inked to overprint flat colours from quadrant-shaped blocks butted together."
In 1998, the Sarjeant Gallery also curated a second Albrecht exhibition, ‘Crossing the Divide’, which explores the link between Gretchen’s prints and paintings.
