Member registration details on our website differs to this online platform. All users need to register here to use this service. Existing Members will require a separate login to use this service. 

All our auctions are conducted in New Zealand dollars NZD$ and in NZST

BUYER'S PREMIUM

For both Live and Timed auctions there is a 17.5% Buyers premium plus GST (20.12% total) on premium applies to all items purchased in room, by telephone or absentee. 

ALL AUCTIONS: There is no additional charge to use the online bidding platform. Therefore total premium for these sales is (20.12% including buyer's premium)

Whilst absentee bids can be placed via this platform, leaving absentee bids directly on our website  is also possible www.internationalartcentre.co.nz  Please note that this requires an seperate registration. 

The highest bidder shall be the buyer. In the event of any dispute as to the bidding in respect of any lot, that lot may be offered again at the discretion of the auctioneer whose decision shall be absolute and final.

The auctioneer has the right:

  1. to refuse any bid;
  2. to advance the bidding at his absolute discretion;
  3. to place a reserve on any lot;
  4. to place a bid or bids on behalf of the seller;
  5. to withdraw any lot from sale;
  6. to require a successful bidder to pay forthwith the whole or any part of the purchase price

The auctioneer acts as the agent of the seller and neither he nor the seller shall be responsible for any defects or faults in any lot or for any errors of description or for genuineness or authenticity of any lot and no compensation shall be paid in respect of same.

From the time of lot being sold, such lot will be the responsibility of the buyer.

Successful bidders are required to pay for purchases immediately on completion of sale, unless otherwise arranged

Each lot shall be paid for and removed at the buyers expense within 48 hours of the auction failing which the auctioneer and/or the seller shall have the right to forfeit any deposit paid by the buyer and to resell the lot either by public or private sale and any deficiency on costs of resale shall be borne by the defaulting buyer.

Bids placed via the website are absentee bids - These bids are made through the auctioneer who will execute to purchase as cheaply as permitted by other bids and reserves, if any. Absentee bids are also accepted by fax (09) 307 3421. A bidding number is required before making an absentee bid - please contact us and we provide you with a bidding number. TELEPHONE BIDS
Telephone bidding available. There is no charge for this service. Please arrange this before 3 pm on day of sale.

PAYMENT OPTIONS
Eftpos: Available with your banks daily limit. 

Bank deposits: Please ask for our bank details to be emailed if you wish to pay by direct debit. Quote the Lot number(s)

Cheques not accepted
Credit cards: 2% surcharge applies to Visa & Mastercard.

FREIGHT AND PACKING

International Art Centre arrange in house or professional packing and international, national or local freight at cost. Contact us if you require a quote prior to bidding. Please arrange insurance on your items prior to them leaving our premises. 

Protected Objects Act 1975
The Protected Objects Act 1975 regulates the domestic trade of ngā taonga tūturu, and the export of New Zealand‛s moveable cultural heritage. Under the Act, permission is required from the Ministry for Culture and Heritage before any protected New Zealand object can be exported.

The Act regulates the export of any art object which relates to New Zealand, is more than 50 years old and is of national, historical, or artistic value or importance. Applications for permission to export must be made to the Ministry for Culture and Heritage at https://mch.govt.nz/nz-identity-heritage/protected-objects/exporting

Export applications can take between 4 to 12 weeks to be processed, and longer in particularly complicated cases.
